Welcome to Chop's Diner!
The neon sign out front has been buzzing since before many of Deadwoodville's residents can remember.
Long-time residents Chop and Flo arrived in Deadwoodville as young teenagers late one Saturday night after their date ended in an unfortunate car accident. Shortly after graduating from Deadwoodville High School, they married and scraped together enough toes to purchase the abandoned building on the corner and turn it into the diner of their dreams. Chop works the grill (and the chainsaw) while Flo runs the front, the register, the coffee pots, and the conversations because she has the gift of remembering everyone's order and everyone's business at the same time.
All this time later, they are still going strong. Ask Chop why they're still open seven days a week and he'll tell you "Man gets hungry on a Sunday just like any other day". Ask Flo and she'll roll her eyes at her husband and tell you the truth - the diner is the heart of the town and they could never turn people away.
With its classic red vinyl booths patched more times than anyone can count and a counter worn smooth from Flo's constant scrubbing, Deadwoodville residents know just what they're getting when they sit down at Chop's.
But it's the food that keeps people coming back for more, like Chop's meaty delicacies pounded thin and fried up in a cast iron skillet coated with the remnants of history and Flo's famous cobblers, always dense with the taste of something familiar yet mysterious.
As Chop and Flo always say, they aim to cook up comfort food that tastes like an old friend.
And it always does.
